A newcomer in the SME-Youth team

By Michelle Vyboh

My name is Michelle Vyboh. Further to the recent departure of Nadine Gaudreau, I joined the CESO team in September as Coordinator for the SME-Youth program.
Here, in a few words, is an overview of my academic and professional background.

In June 2006, I completed a Bachelors of Communications and Politics at Université de Montréal, having spent six months in France where I had completed various courses at the Institut d’Études Politique de Lyon. My studies allowed me to acquire a great deal of knowledge and to realize how closely related these two areas are within the public domain.

In September of last year, thanks in great part to this diploma, I was able to work on a long term study being done in Quebec with newborn twins. This research focused on the influence of genetics and environment on the development of children. This study is now following 600 sets of twins, from birth, who are now 10 years old. For one year I was responsible for the recruitment of participants and the logistics for collecting data in their schools. I learned a great deal about the world of business and research.

With this experience, I decided to embark on a new project, and accepted, with enthusiasm, the position of Coordinator for the SME-Youth program. I find CESO’s social mission most interesting, and the SME-Youth program is particularly stimulating. In a society where contacts between youth and adults are less and less frequent, contributing to bridging the generations seems, to me, to be a wonderful initiative.

I am ready to take on this professional challenge, and I am proud to be part of an organization which helps people, on a daily basis, to attain their dreams.
